Burrrr... It was 0 degrees with a much colder wind chill when Eric and I snowshoed for 6 hours in the BWCA. We covered 10-11 miles doing a loop along the following lakes: Bearskin, Duncan, Rose, and Daniels.

  • Rose Lake from a viewpoint on the Border Route trail. We snowshoed down this entire lake and then down Long portage (2 miles long) to Daniels Lake. It was annoying to find fresh snowmobile tracks on Long portage leading out onto Rose Lake. Illegal? Possibly not since this is officially the edge of the BWCA and Quetico hasn't started yet on the Canadian side.
