Becca took the kids ashore and I stayed in the boat. The batteries were unable to start the engine and I had to use the jumper battery the charter company handed to me at the last minute to start the engine. I stayed on the boat so the engine could stay on to charge the batteries.

  • Kids doing some reading. The next day there was no wind. We motored across to Michigan Island to explore ashore.

  • The Michigan Island sandspit. Original thought was to go ashore and explore the lighthouse. We motored around looking for the best spot to anchor. Took awhile until I realized there was only one spot where the slope of the bottom was appropriate for a secure anchoring.

  • The kids made a raft out of driftwood and paddled it around!
