  • A flock of seagulls were here that we scared away. We found an awesome piece of driftwood!

  • The very end of the sandspit. We swam out from here a ways.

  • Back on the boat after exploring Outer island sandspit, we targeted Madeline Island's Big Bay as our destination for the night. Already having sailed over 20 miles this day, we had quite a few more miles to go yet and were racing the setting sun as we wanted to anchor before dark.

  • We sailed by Julian Bay on Stockton Island. A few people chose to anchor here, but it was a weak anchorage for the night based off the wind direction. We chose to continue on towards Madeline Island.
  • Our GPS stopped working this day and we used some real navigation skills to ensure we were far enough off of Madeline Island to avoid the shallows.
  • The next morning, our last, turned out to be a rainy one. It would be a short sail around Madeline Island and to Pike's Bay Marina. The only challenge left would be successfully docking the boat in the slip without mishap.
  • Maddie got to know the Apostle Islands well. Here she arranged her rocks according to the islands on the map.
  • Maddie steered us much of the way back to the Marina this morning.
