Sunset glow.

  • We met a large group camping nearby and exchanged taking photos. They noticed our leash was made of nice sailing line and asked if we were sailors, mentioning that they usually visit this area via sailboat, anchoring in the harbour for protection.

  • The weather took a change for the worse right as we chose this campsite near an "alpine" lake. It proceeded to rain and be foggy from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. We spent most of this time in our small tarptent reading.

  • It was 40 degrees and wet everywhere. Zero chance for a fire this night.
  • The next morning we were immediately met with this Talus field of boulders.  I chose a suboptimal route, resulting in a rather dangerous situation of slippery boulder hopping with 30 pounds on my back and a dog. Luckily we didn't slip and none of the boulders shifted on us.
